Intro to Operation HerStory

Calling all Sisters In Arms – Past, Present, and Future!   An introduction to Operation HerStory. “Making women veterans visible.”

Did you serve or do you know a woman who served in the Armed Forces at some point in her life? Maybe your Mother, your Aunt, your Grandmother, what about your neighbor? Have you heard Her Story? Did she get to experience the accolades and honor she deserves for her service?

ABOUT GINNY NARSETE & ELISABETH PENNIX

Welcome to OperatIon HerStory where we highlight Her Story and make women veterans visible! We are Ginny Narsete, Founder, and Elisabeth Pennix, Co-Founder of Operation HerStory. We met while we worked together while serving veterans across the State of Illinois and both observed that women who served in the military and their rich service stories, were under-shared and often untold. We aim to change that by meeting, interviewing, and sharing the service stories of women who served – to tell and celebrate HerStory.

Please join us as we embark on our next flight – flying 100 women to Washington in fall 2025 to celebrate our Sisters with a day of true connection, camaraderie, sharing stories and laughter, and soaking in the sights and sounds of our great nation’s Capitol! This Operation HerStory day of recognition for our Sisters In Arms, will surely be a highlight of their lifetime.

Please donate, volunteer and be inspired, nominate a veteran, and reach out to help us make this event possible, once again! See you on Fall 2025.

Operation HerStory Begins

It is with great joy and excitement that we announce that we accomplished our first major Operation HerStory mission on October 6th, 2021! Operation HerStory, with the generous donations of so many contributors, flew 93 women veterans to Washington, D.C. from Chicago, for a long-overdue day of honor, camaraderie, and sisterhood with a Welcome Home greeting in Chicago that was breathtaking and awe-inspiring. With the critical support of many partners, sponsors, and donors who made this historic day possible, they provided comfortable accommodations, logistical planning and support, funding, and outreach support to make this an unforgettable and safe day for all those veterans we honored. We served together and we were made visible; together. We sincerely thank our Donors, Guests, Guardians, Volunteers, and Families for all of their love and support as we planned and executed this monumental day. The Operation HerStory team is planning our next mission and will update you soon!.

Are you looking to volunteer or provide support for Operation HerStory?

This mission could not be accomplished without the assistance of the amazing volunteers that are helping make these events happen. We can use all the help we can get from the community to make this event memorable to the women veterans who we will be celebrating. The details are still coming together for our next big event and when we have the details set, we would love to reach out and share them with you. Please let us know you want to hear from us and fill out and submit the form so that we can reach you when we’re ready! Thank you so much for your support of Operation HerStory!”.
